Former Colorado Rapids coach Fernando Clavijo is looking for Frantz Mathieu, who was his assistant coach when he guided Haiti in World Cup qualifying in 2003. Mathieu has been missing since a 7.0 earthquake devastated Haiti on January 12.

He is a former Chicago Sting and Montreal Manic defender and was MVP of the 1981 Soccer Bowl, the championship game of the North American Soccer League.

Clavijo has tracked down members of the team and many survived. He told Michael Lewis of MLSNet.com: “I’m trying to reach more people. The one that concerns me the most is Frantz. He was right in the middle of the devastation. I pray to God he is OK.”
